Abstract

The flamenco guitarist Miguel Borrull Castellón, of Valencian origin, embodies the emergence of the Valencian flamenco guitar school through his role as a key figure in the development of a history of the Valencian flamenco style. He achieved this by blending a mixed style with the traditional accompaniment of cante and the new concert approaches that emerged from his connections with the classical guitarist Francisco Tárrega.
As a result of this professional growth, Miguel Borrull Sr. established the foundation of this guitar school, much like how he had established himself as a pioneer of flamenco guitar in the cities where he lived, primarily Madrid and Barcelona. His influence continued through the guitarists who trained with the Valencian master, such as Juan Ramón Bustamante or his own son, Miguel Borrull Giménez, as well as through subsequent generations.
