Through the analysis of the press of the time, the present text describes the context in which concert music was developed in the city of Valencia during the Second Biennium of the Second Spanish Republic (1933-1936). Art music was possible thanks to public and associative initiatives in three main places: Music Conservatoire, Principal Theater and Viveros Gardens. Beyond chamber music repertoire, the consolidation of a symphonic and choral repertoire was made possible by five ensembles: Valencia Symphonic Orchestra, Valencian Chamber Orchestra, Orfeo Valencia chorus, Masa Coral Normalista chorus, and Banda Municipal de Valencia Wind Ensemble.
