Commemorant Beethoven en el primer centenari de la seua mort: l'efemèride musical a Xàtiva en 1927

Abstract

The first centenary of Beethoven's death in 1927 was also celebrated in Xativa. In this article we collect the commemorative events that took place in the city by the different musical associations and the local chronicles that described them. We will focus on further analyzing the concert performed by the local group Orquesta Sinfónica El Españoleto, conducted by Vicente Terol, that March 26th. The chronicles found and the documentary materials that are preserved in different archives such as the program and the scores of the occasion, will help us to have a more accurate idea of the importance of that musical event.
